Contemporary Coastal Home on Phillip Island

Designed to embrace the relaxed coastal lifestyle of Phillip Island, this contemporary residence combines bold architectural form with warm, natural finishes to create a home that is both striking and effortlessly liveable. Clean geometric lines, dramatic gabled roof forms and a refined palette of white cladding, charcoal accents and natural timber establish a modern coastal aesthetic, while carefully considered landscaping and architectural screening provide privacy, solar control and visual depth.

The home was planned around light, volume and connection to the outdoors. Expansive open-plan living spaces are enhanced by soaring raked ceilings, oversized skylights and a mezzanine loft that overlooks the central living zone, creating a dramatic sense of scale while allowing natural light to penetrate deep into the home. Full-height glazing and large sliding doors seamlessly connect the interior with the landscaped gardens, outdoor entertaining areas and resort-inspired pool, blurring the distinction between inside and out.

The interiors are unified through a calm palette of soft whites, pale oak flooring and natural textures that evoke the surrounding coastal landscape. Bespoke joinery is featured throughout, from the expansive walk-in robe and highly functional laundry to the custom-built storage solutions that maximise every space without compromising the home's clean aesthetic. Recessed LED lighting, illuminated display niches and concealed strip lighting introduce warmth and subtle sophistication throughout the residence.

A key feature of this design is the versatile mezzanine that loft provides additional living space that can adapt to the changing needs of the family, functioning equally well as a retreat, games room or home office. This elevated space enhances the home's vertical volume while reinforcing the connection between levels through open sightlines and abundant natural light.

The result is a sophisticated coastal residence that captures the essence of modern Australian living—where contemporary architecture, thoughtful design and a builder at the heart of the process combine to create a home that is both beautifully refined and perfectly suited to its unique Phillip Island setting.
