ELSTERNWICK
Season 13 took a different path for The Block with the show securing a large parcel of land in the heart of inner suburban Melbourne. An exciting creative brief saw us (with principal Erilyan) relocate 5 weatherboard homes scheduled for demolition from around Melbourne to the site. Architect Julian Brenchley designed striking extensions coupled with garages and studios above. A private drive-through laneway to the rear garages creates a village like feel. Stunning Colourbond Steel Matte cladding, PGH brick work and Monier Elemental roof tiles introduced lovely textures that allowed the new sections of the build to blend seamlessly into the old.
